Autism and Sex Therapy
Sex therapy for autistic individuals provides a supportive space to explore how autism shapes sexual experience. Sensory sensitivities, communication differences, body awareness, and the need for predictability can all influence how sex feels and how you relate to your body.
As someone who is autistic, I understand how draining and confusing it can be to navigate a world that wasn't designed for your brain. Expectations and norms often don't match how you experience sensation, communication, or connection. Autistic traits may shape how you recognize desire, engage with sensation, or feel comfortable in your sexual self, making it vital to have a space where your experiences are seen and validated.
In sessions, we combine reflection with practical strategies tailored to your needs. We may process past experiences, notice patterns, and use mindfulness and behavioral practices like sensate focus. The goal is sexual experiences that feel pleasurable, authentic, and aligned with your brain and body.
