Neurodivergence and Sex Therapy

Sex therapy for neurodiverent individuals/mixed neurotype couples provides a supportive space to explore how neurodivergence, specifically autism and ADHD, shapes the sexual experience, both individually and with a partner. Sensory sensitivities, communication differences, bodily awareness, the need for predictability/routine, and the need for novelty can all influence how sex feels and how you relate to your body.

As someone who is autistic with ADHD traits, I understand how draining and confusing it can be to navigate a world that wasn't designed for your brain. Expectations and norms often don't match how you experience sensation, communication, or connection. Neurodivergent traits may shape how you recognize desire, engage with sensation, or feel comfortable in your sexual self, making it vital to have a space where your experiences are seen and validated.

In sessions, we combine reflection with practical strategies tailored to your needs. We may process past experiences, notice patterns, and use mindfulness and behavioral practices like sensate focus. The goal is sexual experiences that feel pleasurable, authentic, and aligned with your brain and body.
